About

This site is my online diary about my building of a DCC controlled model railway. The model will be created in N gauge and set in the 1980s somewhere in southern England.

I hope the reader will find the site easy to navigate. The basic layout is a list of diary entries, with the newest ones at the top. You can click the 'comments' link below each article to read comments posted by others or add your own comments on an item. If you want to post a link to a specific article somewhere, click the 'Permalink' link, and use the address that displays in the title bar.

The entries are divided into a number of categories. Those which apply to an article are listed at the bottom of the entry. You can see just the articles in a selected category by clicking the links on the right hand side.

The right hand side also has a calender for looking up entries from a particular date, and a 'Most recent entries' listing.

This site also uses 'RSS'. This means that with suitable software you can be automatically notified of new posts. I'll admit that this isn't something I've ever explored, but some browsers now include the ability to read RSS feeds, or you can search Google for suitable software. Click the 'Atom' or 'RSS' links in the bottom right to see if your browser supports this.

And finally, if you're having trouble finding something, the site features a rather good search system, again available from the bar on the right.
